Tod honors Eldon...

Though I never knew you, my father Richard Terry was with you in the hooch
that fateful day.  He still talks of you highly and with great admiration.
You left a lasting mark on him, and me as well, as a person everyone enjoyed
being around.  Thank You!

Gene Armond remembers Eldon...

I was there that day in Camp Barnes, Dong Ha.  I knew Eldon, saw him now and
then.  I was a surveyor in Headquarters Company.

I remember him as a very friendly person.  That was a long time ago, but in memory,
not so long ago.

I got out my 66-67 cruise book, when MCB-5 was in Da Nang, his picture is in it, with
the others he worked with.

Recently the Vietnam Veterans Memorial "Moving Wall" was in Salina, Kansas.
Those men from this general area who lost their lives in Nam were honored and
their pictures were posted.  Eldon Nevins was one of those honored.  I attended
Osborne High School with Eldon.  He was a very likable person and I will always
remember him.  My heart has always gone out to those who lost their lives
serving our country, especially those that were close to you.  Eldon...You Are a
HERO and You will never be forgotten!

Though we have never had the opportunity to meet, you will always be a part of my life.
Through your bravery and loyalty to the country, you will always be honored.  God
has seen the true you and wanted you by his side.  Someday we will be able to

Friends served together MCB 5

I met Eldon while we were stationed at Port Hueneme CA. with MCB 5 "Seabees".
We went to Dong Ha in November 1967. Eldon was a good man and a good
Seabee. I think about him often and the other fine men who did not return.

I never got the chance to meet you. I know you were a good person. You are in a good
place now; you live with God, The Almighty. I wish I would have had the chance to
meet you in person, but you were saving our country when you perished. You
