Steve Myers remembers his cousin...
Gene was my first cousin. Even though he was four years older than me, he never treated me as anything but an equal. When I was still in grade school, Gene
would take me to his neighbors' homes in Waterville and we would play two on two or three on two basketball with them. He never left me out because I was
younger. As J.R. stated, he would do anything for anyone and he was a very good-hearted person. We will always remember you, Gene.
These messages were left in the Faces On The Wall notebook that travels with the tribute...
Gene was just a little boy that grew up neighbors and was loved and nurtured by his parents - also even more importantly they shared their love of the Lord with him. Thank You, Gene, for the gift you gave to your
country - our country - my country. We'll see you in heaven. Your Neighbors Gene was a very good hearted classmate. He would do anything for anybody. J.R. I went through basic training with Gene and we rode home together on a pass. MJ Leis (?)
