Linda Sherman remembers her uncle...Gerald was a very brave man who always fight for the right for freedom. I
will always remember his courage and his way of defending his country. May God be with him always, my prayers are always with him. His way of life was
truly a military one that showed us how good men die for the right causes... Love, his niece Linda Sherman

Founds (as we called him) was killed by the same mortar round that got me. He
slept right across from my bunk. I heard his groans the night he died as I was doing my best to get to my assigned camp foxhole. I didn't make it as my hemo
neumo thorax (sucking chest would) eventually knocked me down. I came home, but I'll NEVER forget the guys who didn't. God bless you Founds and welcome Home (God's home).

Gerald and his wife lived across the street on East 3rd street in Frankfort, they had 2 beautiful Husky dogs, this had to be in the middle 50's. He was always friendly. Dean Clauson (?)
