Larry Ricci remembers Rodger...There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. We were working with the rf
when we walked into an ambush. He was up front in the lead with several rf's. There were 6 rf's between us when we got hit. We pulled back not knowing that he had been
hit. We went back through the village and found him. August 27th is a day that is hard to live with. My father-in-law passed away three years ago on August 27th, so it brought back some memories.

Vietnam Claims Salina Soldier PFC Rodger Lee Jameson, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jameson has been
killed in action in Vietnam, his parents learned Saturday.Jameson was attached to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, Americal Division, which for several days has been battling the enemy
in the rolling hills of the Song Chang Valley 31 miles southwest of Da Nang. Jameson was killed Wednesday during a combat operation in the area.
He was born June 16, 1950 in Salina and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Salina High School in 1968. He volunteered for the draft and entered the Army November 18, 1968. He went to Vietnam May 18. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Also surviving are a brother, Richard, a sister, Rhonda, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Humbarger.
No funeral arrangements have been made.
